IF YOU ARE ENTERING FROM A CLUB IN IRELAND (EUROS), YOUR PAYMENT CARD / BANK WILL CONVERT THE £3 STERLING PER COUPLE TO EUROS AT THE CURRENT RATE.

The Peugeot LGU Coronation Foursomes stableford competition is open to all members of affiliated golf clubs in Great Britain and Ireland who hold a current CONGU handicap. The winning pair will be invited to play in the Ricoh Women’s British Open Pro-Am in the following year.

Any club which does not permit a member (including junior members), who holds a CONGU handicap, to compete in the Qualifying Round shall not be entitled to forward a winning pair to the Area Final. A club may not impose a handicap limit on the event.

CONDITIONS
The following conditions shall apply at all stages of the Coronation Foursomes:

1. The Coronation Foursomes shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf and Amateur Status as approved by the R&A Rules Limited.

2. A player is prohibited from having a golf professional serve as her caddie during the stipulated round. Penalty for Breach of Condition – Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – Four strokes. In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole. A player having a caddie in breach of this condition must immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred ensure that she conforms with this condition for the remainder of the stipulated round. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.

3. If the players arrive at their starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after their starting time, in the absence of circumstances, which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification. The organising committee reserves the right to amend starting times and groups.

4. Players must walk at all times during a stipulated round unless permitted to ride by the Committee. Penalty for Breach of Condition – Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round: Four strokes. In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole. Use of any unauthorised form of transportation shall be discontinued immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.

5. Each player is responsible for playing without undue delay.

6. The use of distance measuring devices is not permitted at any stage of the competition and this
condition overrides any local rule which has been issued by a club. (Note to Rule 14 – 3)

REGULATIONS
Qualifying Round
1. The Qualifying Round shall consist of 18 holes of foursomes stableford to be held during the period 1st December 2009 – 17th June 2010 as decided by the Committee.
2. In compliance with the Note to Rule 33-2b and with the consent of the Club Committee, a club may arrange an alternative day for the Qualifying Round.
3. Members of more than one club may compete in the qualifying round at each club where they are a member but may only compete in one Area Final.
4. The Committee is responsible for the running of the qualifying round at their club.
5. Entry Fee - £3/€4 per pair minimum £12.00/€16.00.
6. Handicap allowance – 1/2 combined playing handicap. All half strokes to be counted as one (CONGU Appendix F Note 1.).
7. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be decided by card count-back using the scores for the last 9 holes (or 6 or 3 or 1). If a tie still arises, the last 6 holes of the first 9 holes (or 3 or 1) will be used. If no decision is reached, the winner shall be decided by lot.
8. The Ladies’ Golf Union will present mementoes to the pair returning the best score in each club, subject to a minimum of four pairs entering.
9. The winners from each qualifying round in Great Britain and Ireland shall be eligible to compete in any of the Area Finals. If the winning pair are unable to attend an Area Final the next available pair may be substituted. Once a pair has been entered no changes or substitutions are permitted.
10. The Ladies’ Secretary or appointed representative of an affiliated club in Great Britain and Ireland, must enter details of their club qualifying round, winner information and make the relevant payment of entry fees on-line OR download an entry form at www.lgu.org
11. Submission of an entry does not guarantee participation in the Championship. You will be notified of your entry status after the closing date, The LGU will not be liable to pay any money to you by way of compensation for any loss, damage, cost or expense suffered by you, which was not reasonably foreseeable when your entry was confirmed after the closing date, and/or was not caused by the LGU. 
12. By agreeing to be bound by these regulations and conditions, you are consenting to the LGU collecting and storing certain personal data about you. This data will be used to provide further details of the event and may be stored by the Ladies’ Golf Union and supplied to event sponsors to keep you informed of other promotions, events and services, which may be of interest to you. This data will not be used other than in the normal course of our business. If you do not wish to receive such information, all you need to do is write to let us know.
13. In all cases, the decision of the Committee is final. 

AREA FINAL 
1. Each Area Final shall consist of 18 holes of foursomes stableford.
2. The best 100 scores in relation to the Standard Scratch Score of the qualifying course will qualify for the Area Final, restricted to one pair per club. The Manager will maintain a reserve list in order of scores returned.
3. In the event of a pair withdrawing from an Area Final, the next available pair on the waiting list will qualify.
4. Handicap stroke allowance – 1/2 combined playing handicap (all half strokes to be counted as one).
5. All competitors must register in person, with a current CONGU Handicap Certificate, not less than 15 minutes before their starting time.
6. The organising committee reserves the right to amend starting times and groups and to appoint a marker if necessary
7. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be decided by card countback on the scores for the last 9 holes (or 6 or 3 or 1). If a tie still arises, the last 6 holes of the first 9 holes (or 3 or 1) will be used. If no decision is reached, a card play-off from the 1st hole will apply, failing which, the winner will be decided by lot.
8. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the organising committee reserves the right to alter the format of the competition in order to achieve a result.
9. Winners of the national Area Finals in Great Britain and Ireland shall be eligible to play in the Grand Final.
10. The Manager of each Area Final shall send a copy of the results to the LGU Office.
11. In all cases, the decision of the Manager/LGU representative is final.

GRAND FINAL
1. The Grand Final shall consist of 18 holes of foursomes stableford.
2. In the event of a withdrawal from the Grand Final, the next available pair from the withdrawing pair’s Area Final will qualify.
3. Handicap allowance – 1/2 combined playing handicap (all half strokes to be counted as one).
4. All competitors must register in person, with a current CONGU Handicap Certificate, not less than 15 minutes before their starting time.
5. The organising committee reserves the right to amend starting times and groups and to appoint a marker if necessary.
6. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be decided by card countback on the scores for the last 9 holes (or 6 or 3 or 1). If a tie still arises the last 6 holes of the first 9 holes (or 3 or 1) will be used. If no decision is reached, a card play-off from the 1st hole will apply, failing which, the winner will be decided by lot.

8. Trophies will be awarded to the winning pair and shall be held for one year.
9. The Grand Final of the Peugeot Coronation Foursomes has been approved by the R&A Rules Limited for the payment of expenses – Rule 4-2g RA/7/2010
10. In all cases, the decision of the LGU is final.
