Full-time mother of two after graduating from Strathclyde
University with a law degree and practising as a solicitor,
Fiona was manager of successful GB&I team at last year's
Vagliano Trophy match.
As Fiona McKay, she was Lanarkshire women's county champion
in 1988 and 1990. Played off +3 during an international
career (1986 - 1994) with Scotland at U-18, U-21 and women's
level. Captained Scotland U-18s in 1998 (won girls' home
internationals title) and 1999, U-21s in 2000.
Fiona's husband, Patrick, whom she met at world student golf
championships in 1992, is Irish with a +1 handicap, having
played at inter-provincial level. Older sister Mhairi McKay
is an LPGA Tour and Solheim Cup player. Likes swimming and
watching football.
"While I realise that winning is almost everything,
participation does matter, so it is my intention to make
this a memorable week for everyone involved," says Fiona who
has also become a member of Hamilton Golf Club where her
husband plays his golf.
