Her dad and brother persuaded her to start playing golf
at the age of 10 - which she did, left-handed! Switched to
right-handed style at 12 and played competitively since
13-14 years.
She won the French U-16 girls' open match
play title and was Kent county champion in 2000 and 2002.
Danielle was England Under-21 and U23 stroke-play champion
in 2002. In 2003, she reached the semi-finals of the English
women's amateur championship. Won the Welsh open amateur
stroke-play championship at Ashburnham with an aggregate of
216 - two shots ahead of Anna Highgate - in early May.
Danielle was leading qualifier for the match-play stages
of the 2003 British women's open amateur championship before
losing in the third round.
Made the breakthrough on the international scene in 2003,
representing England in the European team championship at
Frankfurt and the women's home internationals.
Played for GB&I in the Vagliano Trophy match at County
Louth last August and, in the last singles tie, Danielle go
the trophy-clinching half-point. No wonder she rates it her
most memorable golfing experience.
