Anna became interested in golf, thanks to her dad, Tony, at
the age of eight and has played competitively since the age
of 15.
Until her selection for this Curtis Cup match, Anna
rated being chose to play for Great Britain in last year's
Commonwealth tournament in Auckland, New Zealand as her most
memorable experience.
Anna, now a full-time amateur golfer, first played at
international level for the Welsh girls' team in 1997 and
has been a full international for Wales since 1999. She has
won the Glamorgan women's county title for the past three
years.
In 2002, Miss Highgate lost by one hole to Eleanor
Pilgrim in the final of the Welsh championship. Last year
she reached the quarter-finals. Anna reached the last 16 of
the British amateur championship at Lindrick last June.
Finished runner-up to Danielle Masters in the Welsh open
amateur stroke-play championship at Ashburnham with an
aggregate of 218, two more than the winner, in early May.
Nicknamed "Spanner" and has reputation for "silly
one-liners".
When not golfing, Anna likes going out with friends, and
working out in the gym. |
