United States Retain Curtis Cup
United States retained the Curtis Cup after an exciting finish
before a crowd in excess of 8,000 in glorious sunshine at Formby.
Great Britain & Ireland won the morning foursomes 2-1 to tie up the
scoreline at 6-6 with the final six singles to play.
GB & I at one stage led in 3 ties and were all square in another but
the United States finished strongly to take the singles 4-2 for a
10-8 overall victory. more ...

GB&I, USA level going into final singles
Great Britain & Ireland were locked with United States at 6-6 after
the Sunday morning foursomes.
GB&I wiped out their overnight one-point deficit when Emma Duggleby
and Shelley McKevitt won the No 1 foursomes tie by 2 and 1. But
United States went 6-5 ahead when Brittany Lang and Annie Thurman,
with the best scoring so far, won the third foursomes 5 and 4.
Anne Laing and Claire Coughlan won by 3 and 2 to tie up the
scoreline at 6-6. more ...

to take the Singles 5-1 for a 5-4 lead at the halfway stage of the

Saturday Foursomes
Great Britain and Ireland made a flying start to the Curtis Cup
by making a clean sweep to the opening foursomes. Emma Duggleby and
Shelley McKevitt won the first tie by 3 and 2. Nicola Timmins and
Danielle Masters won the second by one hole. Anne Laing and Claire
Coughlan completed a 3-0 lunchtime scoreline with a one hole win.
