2007 Continent of Europe Team announced for Vagliano Trophy
CONTINENT OF EUROPE ANNOUNCE TEAM FOR VAGLIANO TROPHYFAIRMONT HOTEL, ST ANDREWS, JULY 27-28
Carlota Ciganda, the reigning Ladies' British Open Amateur champion, heads the Continent of Europe team for this month's Vagliano Trophy at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews from July 27-28.
The Spaniard forms part of a nine-strong side for the biennial contest with GB&I as the Europeans look to recapture the crown they last won in Venice back in 2001.
Ciganda is joined in a talented line-up by compatriots Belen Mozo, the former British Open Amateur champion and the current holder of the European Ladies' title, and Emma Cabrera.
Anna Nordqvist, the former British Girls' champion, and Florida Sate University student Caroline Westrup, both members of the Swedish side which claimed second place in last season's World Amateur Team championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy, will both compete at St Andrews.
A third Swede, Pernilla Lindberg, is also included in the team along with German duo, Sandra Gal and Denise Becker, and former French Junior champion Valentine Derrey.
