Adams, Jones and Richards head the field in Pyle & Kenfig
A trio of players consisting of Rozalyn Adams, Helen Jones and Denise Richards headed the field after impressive rounds of 75 in round one of the 2009 Senior Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship at Pyle & Kenfig. After two mild practice days the wind picked up to give all players a real taste of true links golf conditions with many players finding the going rather tougher than they had anticipated.Lurking one shot back, also in a group of three, are Welsh golfing legend Vicki Thomas, Sweden's Brigitta Ljung and Bromborough based retired Math's teacher Caroline Marron.
The shot of the day came from Eppie Zandvoort from Eaton who aced the 12th Hole.
The stage is now set for the second day of qualifying which will determine the top 40 and ties who will contest the final day of the Championship.
