2009 Senior Ladies' British Open Amateur Champion - Vicki Thomas

Thomas triumphs in Wales
Carmarthen's Vicki Thomas held off a challenge from Rozalyn Adams to become the 2009 Senior Ladies' British Open Amateur Champion.Vicki was in pole position after rounds of 76 and 74 and her 82 in day 3's trickier conditions proved secured victory by three shots from Roz Adams.
In third place was Felicity Coulter who shot up the field after a solid final round of 78. Newport's Jean O'Connor finished in fourth place on best last round.
This was Vicki's first Senior Ladies' British Open Amateur title and afterwards she happily exclaimed when looking at the long list of names on the trophy that she was "on there with the best of them now!".
