FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ. Can we allocate a qualifying round to an existing club fixture?
A. Yes you can. Alternatively, you may allocate a new date.
Q. What is the format for the qualifying round?
A. Stableford with 1/2 combined handicap allowance.
Q. What is the format for the Area Finals and Grand Final?
A. Both will be Stableford with 1/2 combined handicap allowance.
Q. What is the handicap limit for the event?
A. There is no handicap limit.
Q. May Juniors play?
A. Juniors are actively encouraged to play. Any club which does not permit a junior with a CONGU handicap to compete in a qualifying round shall not be allowed to forward a winner to an Area Final.
Q. Can our club qualifying round be played over 2 days?
A. Yes it can.
Q. Where will the Area Finals be played?
A. A list of Area Finals can be found on the Coronation Foursome Section of the LGU web site.
Q.May our club qualifiers choose which Area Final which they wish to play in?
A. Qualifiers may play in any Area Final in Scotland, England and Wales.
Q. Can an alternate pair other than the winning pair be sent to an Area Final?
A. Yes they can. If the first placed pair from a club is unable to attend or has withdrawn from an Area Final then the 1st reserve pair may be substituted but only if there is no pair on the waiting list with a better qualifying score from a club not already represented.
Q. May a Club enter more than one pair in an Area Final?
A. No.
Q. Will every club qualifying pair receive mementoes?
A. The LGU will present mementoes to the pair returning the best score from each club. Subject to a minimum of 4 pairs entering.
Q. Where should I return the entry form to?
A. The entry form should be returned along with entry fees/list of all club competitors to the manager of the Area Final which your winning pair wishes to attend.
