England and Wales triumph on Day 1 of the Home Internationals
Day 1 SinglesEngland and Wales made winning starts to the 2006 Home International Matches at Frilford Heath as they beat Ireland and Scotland respectivley.
Both teams continued their impressive morning foursomes form in the afternoon singles and managed to hold of impressive performances by their opponents.
Standout performances in the singles included Kerry Smith who defeated Tricia Mangan by a 4 and 3 margin, Breanne Loucks who triumphed 5 & 4 over Krystle Caithness and Louise Kenny who defeated Becky harris 5 & 3.
Tommorrow is expected to be another exciting day as Scotland take on England and Wales play Ireland.
Spectators and anyone who would like to assist with scoring are welcome and admission is free.
