Mozo continues to shine in Portstewart

Belen Mozo progressed through to Round 3 of the 2006 Girls' British Open Amateur Championships in Portstewart with fine matchplay wins over Krystle Caithness (2 Holes) and Florentyna Parker ( 3 & 1 ) in the 1st and 2nd rounds respectivly. Mozo will now meet Araceli Felgueroso (Spain) in tommorrow's first match.

Scotland's Sally Watson, winner of this year's Todd Bowl for the best Under 16 qualifier also progressed easily, seeing off Spain's Amanda Goyos Ball by a margin of 4 & 3. France's Marion Bernard also had an impressive win in Wednesday's second round defeating Italy's Marianna Causin by 7 & 5.

Local Favourite Stephanie Meadow (Pictured above) also produced two fine Matchplay displays defeating Carmen Perez Narbon Ferraz (Spain) 3 & 1 in round 1 followed by a 4 & 3 win over Italy's Chiara Brizzolari in round 2. 

The stage is set for an exciting day's play tommorrow.
