USA Wins 2006 Curtis Cup Match
The GB&I Team came out firing on all cylinders on day 2 after finishing 7 matches to 2 down on day 1. The Sunday foursomes pairings of Tricia Mangan & Tara Delaney, Melissa Reid and Breanne Loucks and Martina Gillen and Naomi Edwards managed to secure 2 1/2 points out of 3 for the GB&I side. This left the GB&I Team only 3 points behind the USA. In the afternoon singles the USA Team were too strong for GB&I and even though Breanne and Martina managed to get 2 points on the board in the early stages it was not enough as the USA won the final four matches to claim the Curtis Cup.Breanne Loucks won the most matches for the GB&I Team taking 3 points out of 3 in her first Curtis Cup Match.

Claire Coughlan, Naomi Edwards, Martina Gillen, Kiran Matharu and Melissa Reid are all staying on in the USA to play in the US Amateur at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Portland next week.
