Competitors warm up for challenges of North Berwick

The DRAW for first two qualifying rounds.

144 of the world's top players have descended on the historic North Berwick links. This undulating links course will host a Championship at 6242 yards and will prove a stern test of golf. Conditions may vary from a calm gentle breeze to testing turbulent winds, the norm for local members. Players will require patience and a mastery of links shots. Respected Club Professional & Course Manager, David Huish says "It is a great honour to be asked to host the 2008 British Ladies Amateur Championship. The golf course will present a true test of links golf and will provide a worthy champion". One of the oldest clubs in the world,  North Berwick Golf Club was founded in 1832 by a group of local landowners and gentlemen ,among them a soldier who fought in Napolean's final defeat at Waterloo. The west links is a true links with commanding views across the dark rocky islets of the Forth. Should the gentle North Berwick breeze increase then all players will be tested to extremes. Great golf is anticipated and spectators are welcome.
