Lisburn and Ashbourne to host first ever Irish Area Finals

The LGU is pleased to announce that Lisburn and Ashbourne will host the first ever Irish Peugeot LGU Coronation Foursomes Area Finals as the competition expands into Ireland for the first time in its history.

Lisburn Golf Course, a beautiful parkland course situated just outside Belfast will host the first ever Irish Area Final on Thursday 23rd July, while Ashbourne, a Des Smyth designed parkland course will host the second Irish Area Final on Monday 17th August.

Both courses can now look forward to welcoming up to 100 qualifying pairs from clubs throughout Ireland with the winning pairs from each Area Final qualifying through to the Grand Final in St Andrews.

Susan Simpson, the Head of the LGU’s Golf Operations said, “It is fantastic that this competition has expanded into Ireland. The Peugeot LGU Coronation Foursomes is the UK’s most popular ladies golf competition and I’m sure it will be very well supported in Ireland. The response we have received already is very encouraging”

The event attracted more than 34,000 competitors from 1,300 clubs nationwide and is open to all lady members of affiliated golf clubs in Great Britain & Ireland.

We would ask all Irish Clubs who wish to schedule this new event in their diaries, to fill out this this quick online participation form.

Once completed, the LGU will send you some additional Peugeot LGU Coronation Foursome information in order to assist with the organisation of your club qualifying round.
